A Letter from Our Executive Director

To SpanAfrica Partners, volunteers and interested friends,

We are very proud to be releasing the first edition of our online quarterly newsletter: SpanAfrica Words!

This is coming at an exciting time for SpanAfrica. Our international team has been hard at work this spring developing innovative new programs and strengthening our existing activities to better support our grassroots partners and talented volunteers that make all of our work possible. We are excited to introduce you to these new strategies and ambitious goals for enhancing local empowerment and global development partnerships.

We are using our first newsletter edition to highlight the eighth United Nation’s Millennium Development Goal: Global Partnership for Development. This goal exemplifies the approach SpanAfrica is taking to support grassroots organizations in local efforts towards addressing poverty and inequality. SpanAfrica believes that pursuing dynamic relationships in unique and innovative ways is how we can best bring sustainable change.

In all future editions we hope to see SpanAfrica partners and volunteers contributing their stories, thoughts and comments. The goal of the newsletter is to keep everyone up to date with the work of SpanAfrica and our grassroots partners, as well as provide a public means for discussion, sharing, and learning. Spread the news and get involved!

Warmly,

Rebecca Mitchell, SpanAfrica Founder and Executive Director
