MDGs—Education, Poverty
About Us
The aim of CCR is to educate and empower the communities with alternative dispute resolution mechanisms so that they can resolve their differences amicably, advocate for good governance, and tolerate each other as well as differences in opinion. CCR has four offices in the Rift Valley province in addition to its headquarters in Nakuru, Kenya. Our offices in the countryside enable us to run a wide variety of field projects ranging from peace building, advocacy, reconciliation, and community integration.
Our Community
We work with the communities in the Rift Valley who are poor and
marginalized. These communities have been affected by ethnic conflicts since the early 1990s when Kenya started multi party politics. A team of seven employees in the Nakuru office shape the direction and objectives of the projects, in loose cooperation with the field staff who both research and realize this initiatives for peace.
Our History
The organization has been in existence since 1997 when it emerged as a result of inter-community ethnic conflicts in Rift Valley province. CCR is registered as an NGO under the Companies Act, and has expanded to reach an estimated 500,000 people. We hope to expand our services and the number of people reached by our operations by partnering with other local grassroots organizations to work together and grow.
