Baobab Branch School

MDGs—Education

About Us
A recently founded grassroots organization, Baobab Branch Educational Programs, provides support to youth finishing high school or university and attempting to enter society equipped holistically and vocationally.  The education centre currently offers a library, laboratory, computers, tuition, exam practices, directed learning studies, and seminars in response to academic or vocational needs and interests.  Baobab Branch works to operate in a self-sustained manner by admitting paying students who can afford the services to subsidize those students who cannot pay for themselves.

Our Community
Baobab Branch is based in Nakuru, Kenya, home to about 300,000 people. Although Nakuru is an important university center of the country, the majority of educational support provided by the government and non-governmental organizations targets primary education and child services. Nakuru relies on agriculture, manufacturing, and tourism to bolster its economy, with coffee, wheat, barley, maize, and beans being the primary crops in the area.

Our History
In an effort to address the lack of educational programs available for high school and university students, Baobab Branch was founded. The visions and potential for Baobab Branch are still great, with future possibilities for expanding services and reaching out to different areas of Kenya.
