SpanAfrica supports and enhances the initiatives of communities, offering a unique portal through which grassroots development organizations access global expertise, resources, and both virtual and hands-on volunteers.

SpanAfrica envisions a world where forging global partnerships around grassroots initiatives transcends distance, nationality, and limited resources.

Our Grassroots Partners

There are many non-profit humanitarian and development oriented organizations in Africa that are locally started and governed (grassroots) that are making incredible headway at addressing the issues in their own communities.

Because our partner organizations are developed and run by the communities that benefit from the services, they are naturally locally empowering, culturally sensitive, and fully understand the issues at hand. These are invaluable strengths.

Our Work

SpanAfrica exists to support partnering Grassroots Organizations. We are careful not to infringe on their autonomy, and work hard to prevent dependence.

SpanAfrica connects our Grassroots Partners:

• With our SpanAfrica resource center managed by development experts;
• To other organizations in Africa though our social networks; and
• With SpanAfrica volunteers who assist in designing, implementing, and fundraising for specific project.

The operations of SpanAfrica foster ways for African grassroots organizations to enhance their work, share their successes with others, and gain free access to contributions from a dedicated network of international volunteers - both those who work online, and those who travel abroad for hands-on work.
